Rooney and Giggs show their class as Portsmouth are downed

Neville – Liverpool got what they deserved

Gary Neville has long been a believer in the old adage ‘you get what you deserve in this game’.

Which is why Uniteds unbeaten home run came to an end last night – and why Liverpool are no longer in the competition.

How to get cheap Man Utd tickets

Go anywhere in the world and even if you don’t know the language the mere mention of Manchester United and it will probably solicit a smile and a thumbs up! They may even mention legends such as Giggs, Best, Cantona, Charlton or that global superstar David Beckham who started his career at Man Utd.

Manchester United are undoubtedly the most famous global football brand in the world. With such popularity and high demand for all things Man Utd this also means that tickets to Premier League matches featuring United are notoriously hard to come by and quite expensive.

The cheapest long-term option for affordable Man Utd tickets is by joining One United via the Man Utd website. By becoming a member you have priority over the general public when applying for match tickets. However, being a member does not guarantee you a ticket instead these tickets are allocated on a lottery basis. The results of this ballot are announced a couple of weeks prior to each match.

Should a member fail to secure tickets there is still a possibility of acquiring some through the Manchester United Ticket Exchange operated by viagogo. For those members that no longer need tickets they can sell them to other members securely through the website. This is more a question of potluck as any tickets that do become available are snapped up pretty much straight away. Any tickets that do become available will be more than likely for games against the lesser opposition.

Other benefits of One United membership are:

  • Receive a £5 discount for all tickets for the home matches

  • Get free entry into Home Reserve matches and see stars of the future and potentially first-team players playing to get their sharpness back after an injury lay-off

  • Able to put their name forward for the season ticket waiting list

  • 10% off any purchases from the Megastore. Particularly handy when you want to buy the new man utd shirt!

If this all seems a bit long-winded and you need tickets without any hassle you can easily purchase tickets from a reputable ticket agency. Here you will find a good selection of tickets and you can potentially choose which stand you would like to be seated in.

Watching a Premiership match live is an amazing experience as you really feel you’re part of the action. A fully packed stadium, great football, the crowd chanting and the opportunity to shout and sing loud without anyone batting an eyelid makes this an experience not to be missed! Above all have fun!

Man Utd 3 – 0 Everton

Darren Fletcher produced a brief moment of brilliance on Saturday evening to help United on their way to a convincing victory against Everton on Saturday evening.

Fletcher consolidated United’s dominance over their opposition into a wonder-strike when he controlled a header down by Valencia into a wonderfully aimed hip-high shot straight into the top left-hand corner of the goal. Everton’s goalkeeper Tim Howard didn’t stand a chance.

Man Utd v Liverpool – A Rivalry Spanning Centuries

Undoubtedly the biggest rivalry in English football (and arguably in world football) is the one between Manchester United and Liverpool. It is a genuine rivalry based on pure unadulterated hatred despite the two teams having rivals a lot closer geographically to them (Liverpool’s closest rival is Everton while Man Utd’s ground is a few miles away from Manchester Citys).

Foster contemplates quitting Man Utd?

Man Utd goalkeeper Ben Foster has stated that he is “disheartened” by his current status at the club. Earlier in the season when First choice keeper Van Der Sar was out injured, Foster stepped into the first team and played against Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City. However, after a number of high profile errors in a number of matches (most notably against Man City where he was accountable for two of their three goals) he has found himself sidelined behind Van Der Sar and Kuszczac.

Nani claims Ferguson has mis-managed his career

Nani is a brave man for questioning Sir Alexs’ man-management skills and could pay the ultimate price. The 23 year old has stated that Fergusons’ selection policy leaves him baffled with the result that his confidence has taken a major knock. He also claims that promises made to him have never been met. He also broke the old mantra of “what goes on in the dressing room stays in the dressing room” by stating that Fergie will frequently give the players an ear-bashing if things aren’t going as planned (is there a manager in any league that wouldn’t do this anyway?!). The fact that established players like Neville, Giggs and Rooney get the famous Fergie hair-dryer treatment shows that Ferguson shows no favouratism and no one is immune from punishment.

Foolhardy

By talking out of turn Nani could see himself further humiliated by being dropped to the banch more regularly. The fact that Ferguson has released players far greater than Nani in the past for speaking out of turn doesn’t bode well for him. No sooner had Dutch defender Jaap Stam published his autobiography in 2001 had Ferguson selling him on to Lazio (at the time Stam was the rock in Uniteds’ defence). A couple of years later after falling out with the manager David Beckham was sent packing to Real Madrid. The same treatment was meted out to Roy Keane after he publicly criticised the team. The fact that Nani hasn’t particularly played well this season doesn’t bode well for him.

At the start of the season Nani touted himself as the successor to Ronaldo and started strongly however his inconsistency and bad decision-making on the pitch since is the reason he hasn’t established a permanent first-team position. His last truly great game for United was back in February 2008 where he tormented Arsenal in a 4-0 drubbing and incensed Arsene Wenger with his showboating. Ferguson is nothing but fair and if you’re hard-working, a great team player with the right mentality he will always make a place for you in the team (Darren Fletcher being a great example). With the emergence of a fully-fit Obertan (not to mention Tosic waiting in the wings), Nani may well regret speaking out of turn.
